ewsHOSTING.com owns each of the servers that run our business, we are not a reseller of someone else’s service. This means we know, understand and support the servers that our customers are hosted on. Our web hosting servers use the Windows 2003 Server Operating System with IIS 6.0.

Our servers are located in the GNAX data center in Atlanta, GA and are attached to their Gold network. The Gold network provides redundant backbone connections to the internet. Because of this we have maintained close to 100% uptime. Generally our downtime is related to regular scheduled maintenance for our servers. We communicate anything that is scheduled in our news feed.

Domain name registration is available to all of our Windows Web Hosting customers. We can assist you in purchasing your own SSL certificate if your site requires it.

Critical Microsoft security patches were installed this morning, our servers were rebooted around 7:20 this morning.

Multiple Software Updates 5/16/2006 7:33:07 AM
This weekend, starting May 19th around 8 pm, we will be updating multiple software products on our server. The primary updates will be on the Mail server and with the Helm control panel software. We will also be updating versions 4 & 5 of PHP. MySQL 4 will be updated to the latest release and we will also be adding the latest version of MySQL 5 to our windows web hosting service. The final upgrade will be on the Sitebuilder software, moving from version 2 to version 3. You may see short outages of any of these products as we update.

Critical Update of Mail Server 3/21/2006 8:46:50 AM
A critical patch for our mail server was released late yesterday which was required to be installed. The patch was installed this morning and caused a restart of the server. We appologize for not giving prior warning of this, but the nature of the patch required immediate attention.
